Gupta Media is looking for a Director of Sales to join us, reporting directly to our Executive Team. Gupta Media was founded 20 years ago on the idea that advertising could create huge leverage in our client's business. Our early work was focused on the entertainment industry, specifically live events (Boston Calling, among others) and recorded music (Sony Music, Universal Music & Disney are all clients). More recently, we have dramatically grown our work with big brands (Amazon, Fender) and cult/challenger brands (Island Creek Oysters, Walden Local). We have a global client base with a growing local roster.


As our Director of Sales, you will take the lead in identifying, pursuing and winning strategic and tactical new business for the agency including:

  • Working with agency leadership to identify the ideal new client profile based on the agency's growth strategies.
  • Owning the new business pipeline, from researching leads to initiating communication, sourcing the RFP, and winning the business, to the final onboarding and hand-off to the team.
  • Developing long-term new business planning and processes including: establishing annual new business targets with ongoing YTD status updates of current activity and projections.
  • Leading the preparation of new business RFI/RFPs, recommending appropriate pitch strategies, relevant case studies, and appropriate team, working closely with account directors and department heads to best showcase the agency.
  • Partnering with marketing on the development of expanded agency materials and on networking and content opportunities that showcase agency leadership and drive agency awareness.
  • Maintaining close and consultative relationships with prospects, current and previous clients, partner agencies and consultancies to keep the agency top of mind and expand business opportunities.


Who You Are:

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Business Administration, or related area of study.
  • An agency professional with 7+ years experience in either Account Management, Sales and/or Strategic Planning with a proven track record in the development of new business, growth of existing business, and client retention.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently and credibly communicate with client leadership, including C-suite level executives at Fortune 500 companies.
  • Possess an assertive, a refusal to fail attitude that builds successful new relationships.
